Nebraska Becomes Second State to Pass Kelsey Smith Act

Kansas passed the Kelsey Smith Act on April 17, 2009. Now, thanks to Senator Tim Gay, Nebraska has become the second state to have this life saving law on the books. Governor Dave Heineman signed the bill into law on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 2010. Thank you to all who have supported this legislative effort to save lives.

Thank You to All Who Contacted Topkea

The amendment has been pulled and the bill is back to the form it had when it came over from the House. It will now run as a "clean" bill.

Here's the whole story and what happened:

One: The Kelsey Smith Act was passed in April of last year and is law in Kansas.

Two: The House added a section to the act which changed the way cell phone provider information was collected. Originally the onus was on the KBI to go out and get the information.

POLL RESULTS: Females between the ages of 13 - 24 are more likey to be abducted than Males of the same age range

The correct answer to the poll is false. Males are more likely to be abducted than females.
